Spring (March – April) makes a great timing to visit Italy. The weather is optimal for almost any kind of activity, and there aren’t many tourists yet. Though you can travel to Italy throughout the whole year, you want to take into consideration the kind of activity you’re aiming to do. Autumn is great for exploring Italy’s nature, while summer might be the best option for scuba-diving in Italy’s many beaches.

You can save on flight costs if you choose to travel during Spring or Autumn. Minimize your luggage so you are able to buy a regular train pass, and try to use the train as your main transportation. Travel and stay in lesser known places. The big cities (Rome, Florence, Naples..) can get very expensive, while the small towns might offer better hospitality for cheaper prices. We recommend that you don’t save money on important things, such as insurance. Travel on a budget, but be smart about it.
